Pallet Rack is an aid system designed for stacking materials on pallets or skids. There are different varieties of pallet rack, with all types having storage facilities for palletized materials in horizontal rows with multiple levels. Selective Pallet Rack is the commonest form of pallet racking system used and it comes in two configurations: a roll formed or Teardrop Pallet Rack, and a Structural bolt-together configuration.
Teardrop Pallet Rack has teardrop shaped holes on the column of the upright which rest on the horizontal load beams that are attached using mounting clips. These shelves can be easily adjusted to different height to accommodate various load sizes. Structural Steel Pallet Rack systems have horizontal load beams attached to the uprights with bolts which results in higher weight-bearing capacity. It can be designed into the structure of the building to support the roof of the storage facility.
Push-back Pallet Rack systems have greater depth as compared to its width, which reduces the aisle space and increases storage density. It has rail fitted, six pallets deep bays. Drive-In Pallet Rack has storage rack configurations that allow the forklift to drive directly into the bay. It uses a common entry and exit. Carton Flow Rack uses a gravity feed rear load design for stacking. It consists of one or more inclined runways in each unit and goods are loaded in the rear of each runway. A Cantilever Storage Rack has vertical column, base, arms, and horizontal and/or cross bracing for merchandise storing fabricated from both roll formed and structural steel.
